Honiton Hippo and Calf Event - 18th September 2022 Sunday, 18th September saw Honiton Running Club’s own Honiton Hippo and Calf races. The main race is just over 7 miles and the calf is just under 2 miles. Both runs taking in water, mud, hills and road. George Pemberton (middle pic), decided to take on the full race and was first back for HRC coming 3rd overall in 51:58. The Calf race was won by Olly Morris of Exeter Harriers in 11:31 and he was followed closely by one of our Junior runners, Max Spiller who finished in 13:01. HRC Junior Mia Morris was 1st female and 3rd overall in 13:11. Lyra Webb was 2nd female, 4th overall in 13:24. Alex Yapp won his category coming 5th in 13:30 and he was followed by Taylor Anderson who also won his category coming 6th in 13:42. Chloe Phare won the female under 13 category coming 11th overall in 14:38. Other HRC Junior Calf runners: 10th Noah Pemberton 14:33, 14th Isaac Clarke 15:06, 15th Ella Spiller 15:07, 19th Imogen Clarke 16:05, 20th Keir Osborne 16:23 and 21st Grace Jean 16:41. There were 25 finishers and once again the juniors performed at their best. A great morning with perfect weather was had by all.
Run Exe Relays - Final Round - 6th Sept 2022 On Tuesday 6th September, Honiton running club took eighteen juniors to the final Run Exe 5k in the series. The race comprises of two flat laps around the Exwick fields there are 6 races in the series and those that run 4 or more receive a medal. First back was George Pemberton with a new PB of 17:13 in 6th place making him first in his age group for the series, next in was Olly Morris in a time of 17.54 also a new PB and 10th place putting him in second place for the series. Third back for Honiton was Oscar Purchase with a PB of 19.04 and first in his age group for the series. Noah Keatley 20.46 and Eli Baker-Pike 20.50 were next in, Eli coming third in the series. Max Spiller and Ella Bond crossed the line together in a time of 22.38, next was Hamish Terry in 22.48, Mia Morris who ran all 6 of the races in the series came in at 22.56 placing her second in the series Becky Taviner was only just behind in 22.58. Lyra Webb finished in 23:12 winning her age group. Harry Branch completed the course in 25:17 and finished 5th in a tough age group for the series. Next was Taylor Anderson at 25:21 but had not completed enough events to register for the series. Chloe Phare followed Taylor with a time of 26:37 and a 3rd place in the series. Next in 26:42 was Ella Spiller in 26:42 and finished in 4th in her age category. Faye Driscoll finished in 26:47 after a close finish with Ella and a series finish of 4th. Then Imogen Clark completed the line up in a time of 28:48 also giving her a 4 5th place in the series. This was a well organised fun series for all and our juniors to take part in and we are extremely proud of them. Well done.
Run Exe Relays 5km - 5th July 2022 This was the 4th in the Series of the Run Exe 5km and once again another great turnout by the team, including some adults too. Well done to Alfie for being first home for the Juniors. For some of our juniors this will be the fourth run out of the 6 in the series so they will receive a medal. Its been great to see so many returning and keeping up with their hard work. The coaches are all very proud of them.
Woodland Relay 2022 - 15th June 2022 On Wednesday, 15th June, HRC hosted the Woodland Relays based at Escot Park. Teams were made up of 3 runners, each running 2.4 miles. Previously the Juniors have had their own Woodland Relay but it was decided this year that they were more than capable of joining the adults! Many other local running clubs were invited to participate in the event and in total 66 teams took part on what was a very warm and pleasant evening. There were many different team category prizes on offer but the overall winning team was Axe Valley Runners consisting of Jack Broom, Matt Clist, and Joel Seward. HRC juniors yet again made us proud and took several different category prizes. The under 15 team were the first juniors over the line finishing in 9th place overall in 48:03. Runners for that team were Alfie Gibbins, Ollie Morris and Oscar Purchase. For full results please see this spreadsheet. It was a great evening and very well organised, which was down to one of the clubs team captains "Tim Wigram" and with a little help from others in the club.
Run Exe Relays 5km - 7th June 2022 This weeks 3rd Series of the Run Exe 5km saw a great turnout for the juniors who once again made the coaches very proud.

Run Exe Relays 5km - 3rd May 2022 The juniors have returned to the Run Exe Relays this year again with a great number attending. This picture was taken on the 2nd round of the series where there were slightly less runners than the first round due to other school activities taking place on the same evening. All ran a fab run and again making the juniors coaches proud. Well done to all. We look forward to seeing you again at the 3rd round on 7th June 2022.
Run Exe 5km Series - 22nd June 2021 and 20th July 2021 A large number of juniors attended the first and second (of four) of the organised 5km series runs which is a great traffic free, pancake flat 5km run on footpaths and cycle tracks around Exwick Playing Fields. The juniors were a credit to Honiton Running Club on both these evenings and it was great to see them all getting out to their first event of this year. Well done to all and some great times achieved too.
Killerton Park Run - 28th December 2019 Great turnout of Juniors and parents in between Christmas and New Year for the local Killerton Park Run. Well done all....
Haldon Jingle - 5km - Sunday 15th December 2019 This weekend saw HRC Juniors Alfie Gibbins take part in the festive 5km race, a trail race with a big hill finisher! Alfie came 2nd overall (placing the same as he did last year) but with am impressive 3 minutes off of his time and completing the run in just 21:37. There were 93 finishers. Well done Alfie...
Minster Challenge - 5km - Sunday 6th October 2019 Louis Dumousseau represented the Juniors on Sunday making his debut for the HRC Juniors and he didn't disappoint. Completing the 5km run in a time of 27:34 he came 1st in the Under 13's category and 3rd overall in the race. Well done.
